February 2016 FAST Friends Update
Many students (and teachers) seem to have difficulty understanding what theory “is” and how to work with it. To me, it seems strange that we use something all the time, yet have so little understanding of it. So, on February 2nd I will be presenting to the psychology club of Capella. The title, “Don’t Fear the Theory” pretty much sums it up! I will be providing them with a clear definition, and a simple path that they may follow to develop theory that is more complex, yet more useful.
We had a great workshop where about 20 consultants in San Francisco played the ASK MATT game. We should have it packaged and ready to go for the APSA conference in Portland later this month!
If you are part of a business, government, NGO, or non-profit enterprise, you are probably working in an intercultural environment. As such, you will likely see the benefit of improving your intercultural intelligence. Check out this fundraiser at: https://www.fundsurfer.com/project/the-missing-link
