The problems we face are legion. Poverty, crime, injustice, economic collapse, and needless suffering on a global scale; and, they seem to be getting worse. While many believe they have "the" answer, the persistence of these problems shows that we really don't know how to address them effectively.

The "know how" for addressing those issues should be found in social theory from such disciplines as sociology, psychology, political science, policy, business, and economics. Unfortunately, those theories have not yet evolved to the point where they are highly useful. So, we do not have the tools to address the crucial issues of our time.

The Foundation for the Advancement of Social Theory (FAST) is a long-view, transdisciplinary project dedicated to accelerating the advancement of social theory to fulfill the promise of the social sciences and to provide theory that is unarguably effective in practical application.

By improving our theory, we can boost our personal and organizational efficacy and enable more effective social change. The deployment of more effective social technology will enable a revolution of social practice on par with revolutions in agriculture, industry, and telecommunications.

The alternative, of waiting centuries for the incremental advance of the social sciences to understand how we might resolve global problems, is unthinkable.
