Ahhh… the fresh air of fall… and right into winter! Well… a California winter, anyway. So, not too bad.

I’m getting caught up after my vacation and visiting scholar gig in Naples. Here are the projects I’ll be engaging with the Neapolitan crew! With Chiara Cannavale, we are working on an article integrating multiple theories of entrepreneurship.
With Adele Parmentola, we are collaborating on developing better policy to support diffusion of technological advancement. They have a nice spreadsheet full of propositions that we can use to create an online platform showing an integrated policy model – that would (of course) be an improvement over all previous models.
With Clara Bassano, I am collaborating on a conference presentation about how a web-based mapping process could be used to develop collaboration between researchers, and teachers at multiple universities – to increase their competitiveness (because it will result in better theories for teaching to the students so the students will be more successful in the real world… and so on. Nice feedback loop there). Note that this may lead to an interesting business possibility providing that kind of platform!
Also, I just read a great chapter by Gerhard Fink “Power Systems: How Power Works in Different Systems” describing the function of power structures (for better or worse) in totalitarian, bureaucratic, and command management systems. His descriptions appear to be interestingly amenable to IPA. So, I’m working on an article to evaluate and integrate those models. Perhaps leading to a new systems which combines the best effects of all? Or, at least an improved understanding.
It is looking like 2017 will be a rather busy year for collaboration and publication!\
